The Dean of the College of Education/Qurna at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Ali Darb Shaaban, participated in the third regular meeting of the deans of the colleges of education for pure sciences and the second meeting of the committees of the deans of the colleges of education for the humanities, which was held at the University of Mosul with the participation of the deans of the corresponding colleges from various Iraqi universities.
During the meeting, ways of developing academic programs and enhancing scientific cooperation between colleges were discussed, as attendees discussed a number of important topics, most notably the creation of graduate programs in some scientific departments, the issue of programmatic accreditation and the description of academic courses in the colleges of education for pure sciences and humanities.
The meeting also witnessed the presence of a member of the National Council for Academic Accreditation Programs for Colleges of the Educational Group, which reflects the keenness to enhance the quality of higher education and ensure standards of academic accreditation in Iraqi universities.
