University of Basra Conducts Field Visit to Calf Breeding Farms in Abu Al-Khaseeb
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basra carried out a field visit to calf breeding and fattening farms in Abu Al-Khaseeb District. The visit focused on monitoring herd health and performing thorough veterinary examinations.
A team of faculty members specializing in preventive internal medicine joined the visit, accompanied by postgraduate and fifth-year students. The team examined the herds, diagnosed and treated several disease cases, and offered recommendations on vaccination programs against epidemic and endemic diseases.
This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to safeguarding livestock and ensuring food safety. It also provides postgraduate and senior students with practical training in field diagnosis and herd health management.
