University of Basra Establishes Science and Technology Parks Department
Based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and pursuant to a university order issued by the University of Basra Presidency on September 8, 2025, the Science and Technology Parks Department has been established at the University of Basra to replace the Technology Incubator Department.
The newly established department includes four main divisions:
Technology Incubator Division
Entrepreneurship Division
Qualification and Employment Division
Scientific Product Marketing Division
This establishment is part of the university's strategy to organize and develop the scientific and research work environment, enhance the university's role in supporting entrepreneurial and technological projects, and actively contribute to the qualification of students and graduates, as well as connecting them to the labor market through specialized programs.
The new department is expected to contribute to the unification and integration of academic and research efforts with the rest of the university's academic departments, thereby achieving the university's goals of serving society and developing the knowledge economy.
