As part of its ongoing efforts to keep pace with scientific and academic developments and meet the needs of the labor market, the College of Nursing at the University of Basra continues to achieve qualitative achievements at the level of Iraqi universities. This is under the close and continuous supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad al-Nawab. His Excellency announced the establishment of a Master's degree in Nursing Sciences. The Deanship of the College of Nursing received a ministerial committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, consisting of Professor Dr. Ali Karim Khadir, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Al-Sabtain; Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Wahid Ajil, representing the University of Baghdad; Professor Dr. Hiwa Sattar Saleh, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Kirkuk; and Assistant Professor Dr. Tahseen Mohsen Hussein, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Mosul. The ministerial committee was briefed on the financial and human resources and the availability of the stipulated conditions.
It is noteworthy that the establishment of postgraduate studies and this precise specialization is the first of its kind at the level of nursing colleges in Iraq, which reflects the advanced position occupied by the University of Basra in the fields of modernization and academic development.
