Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad al-Nawab, the College's Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit and the Human Rights Unit, organized a scientific symposium on "Mental Health: Not a Luxury, but the Foundation of Life."
The symposium, which featured lecturers Afkar Fadhel Karim, Head of the Nursing Fundamentals Branch; Mohammed Kazem Mutasher, Director of Student Affairs and Registration; and Assistant Professor Maha Muqdad, aimed to facilitate the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and propose methodologies and initiatives that would help achieve the desired mental health and help overcome psychological pressures and stress. The symposium's papers and interventions are expected to contribute to strengthening and identifying sources of strength within the self, making it a permanent state of life for the individual under all circumstances and conditions.
The researchers also addressed mental health, emphasizing the importance of The importance of caring for mental health, which is the foundation of physical health, and the extent to which each influences the other, are emphasized. Paying attention to mental health and well-being can help us avoid many of the disorders that can plague a person's life amidst the pressures of life.
