University of Basrah – College of Arts Launches Global Entrepreneurship Week Activities
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, President of the University of Basrah, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul-Hamid Al-Kaabi, Dean of the College of Arts, the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Arts, in cooperation with the University’s Technology Incubator Division, launched the activities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024.
The program included a variety of academic and student-oriented events such as workshops, scientific lectures, and practical training sessions aimed at empowering students with entrepreneurial skills and linking their academic knowledge with real-world applications.
Topics covered during the week included green environment initiatives, women’s entrepreneurship, innovation and technology, and the role of media in society, in addition to a special seminar discussing the psychological, medical, and social aspects of suicide cases.
These activities reflect the University of Basrah’s vision to foster a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students and to strengthen partnerships between academia and the labor market in support of sustainable development in Iraq.
