For sustainable development and environmental conservation, the University of Basra organizes a lecture on the use of nanotechnology in oil pollution removal.
The Marine Science Center at the University of Basra organized a training workshop entitled "Using Nanotechnology in Oil Pollution Removal: From the Laboratory to Field Application."
The workshop, presented by Dr. Amjad Nema Jassim, aimed to leverage the exceptional capabilities of nanoparticles to develop effective and sustainable solutions for treating oil pollution, contributing to environmental restoration and the protection of water and soil resources.
The lecture addressed the transfer of nanotechnology from the laboratory to field application for oil pollution removal through the use of nanoparticles that are effective in absorbing oil, stimulating the oxidation of pollutants, or stabilizing them. This reduces the volume of dispersed oil and facilitates its separation from the environment. This approach seeks to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of oil pollutants and promote environmental sustainability.
