


University of Basrah Organizes a Scientific Seminar Entitled “Between the Lecturer and the Student: An Open Dialogue to Evaluate the Educational Relationship and the Effectiveness of Information Delivery”
The College of Administration and Economics – Qurna, at the University of Basrah, organized on Thursday, October 9, 2025, a scientific seminar titled “Between the Lecturer and the Student: An Open Dialogue to Evaluate the Educational Relationship and the Effectiveness of Information Delivery.”
The seminar was presented by Professor Dr. Zahed Qasim Badan and Assistant Professor Dr. Hassan Awda Abdullah, with the attendance of a group of faculty members and students of the college.
The seminar aimed to strengthen communication channels between students and lecturers through an interactive dialogue that highlighted the strengths and weaknesses in the educational relationship, as well as ways to improve the effectiveness of delivering information in the classroom, in order to ensure a more open, understanding, and effective learning environment.
The seminar included discussions on several key themes focusing on the importance of educational communication as the foundation of the academic relationship, the lecturer’s role in building trust and motivating students toward self-learning, in addition to reviewing students’ opinions and suggestions regarding modern teaching methods and clearer ways to convey scientific concepts.
The speakers also discussed the challenges facing the educational process and emphasized the need to adopt continuous feedback to improve the academic performance of both parties.
At the end of the seminar, an open discussion was held for students to share their views and comments on their educational experiences. A questionnaire was also distributed to assess their evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of the educational process.
The participants stressed the importance of continuing such meetings, as they contribute to developing teaching methods and enhancing mutual understanding between faculty members and students, thereby positively reflecting on the overall quality of education at the college.
