To spread and enhance health awareness among students and faculty at the University of Basra, the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Dentistry organized an educational seminar on cancer in women.
The seminar featured pharmacist Dr. Zainab Qais Muhammad Ali, head of the Early Detection Unit at the Ministry of Health's Cancer Council. She highlighted the risks of breast cancer and the need to intensify awareness campaigns, as it is the most common disease among women.
The seminar addressed breast cancer, its stages of development, causes, symptoms, and risks to human life. It also addressed the key factors that increase the risk of the disease, methods of diagnosis and prevention, the impact of the disease, and its psychological effects on those affected.
The seminar also featured awareness videos explaining the risks of breast cancer, a questionnaire, and the necessity of regular and early detection.
