In a new scientific achievement added to the University of Basra's record of research successes, a research team of students from the College of Dentistry has published a solid scientific study in an international journal published by Springer Nature. The study was titled "Quantum Dots: Catalysts for a New Era of Precision Medicine and Biomedical Innovation."
The research covered a comprehensive study of quantum dots and their growing role in supporting precision medicine and biomedical innovation. These advanced nanomaterials possess unique optical and electronic properties that open up broad horizons for smart diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
In their study, the researchers addressed the latest environmentally friendly methods for manufacturing quantum dots, in addition to surface engineering and molecular encapsulation techniques that contribute to increasing biocompatibility and reducing non-specific binding within the body, enhancing their potential for use in smart drug delivery systems and targeted phototherapy. For his part, Professor Dr. Asaad Mohammed Kazim, Dean of the College of Dentistry, expressed his pride in this scientific achievement, appreciating the great efforts made by researchers to elevate the college's research level. He emphasized that this publication reflects the competence of the academic staff and their students at the University of Basra and their ability to contribute to sound global research with broad practical impact.
