The Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah welcomed third-year students from the Department of Food Science, College of Agriculture, during a scientific visit accompanied by Dr. Alia Ziyara Hashim, Dr. Alia Jamil Ali, Dr. Zeina Kazem Younis, and Assistant Lecturer Sara Hashim Musa. The visit aimed to familiarize students with key techniques used in plant tissue culture.
During the visit, Professor Dr. Khayoun Ali Mohsen delivered a detailed presentation on the main equipment available in the laboratories, the stages of date palm tissue culture, and some of the common challenges faced by tissue-cultured plants within the laboratories.
