Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing, and Assistant Professor Dr. Mustafa Abdul-Ridha Kadhim, Director of the Continuing Education Center.
On the occasion of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Continuing Education Center at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the College of Nursing at the University of Basra and Al-Thaqalain Hospital, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Early Detection of Breast Cancer."
The seminar featured lectures by Dr. Naaman Abdul-Razzaq, a specialist in the diagnosis of solid tumors and cancerous glands, Professor Dr. Sajjad Salem Issa, and Assistant Professor Dr. Hisham Hussein Abdul-Raouf, members of the college's faculty.
The symposium addressed the risks of this disease and the importance of women's role in society. It also included presentations on self-examination and regular medical checkups, emphasizing that early detection can significantly increase the chances of recovery. Factors that may increase the risk of developing the disease were also addressed, along with tips for prevention and maintaining breast health.
The symposium was well attended by professors, researchers, and students from the college, who engaged in the symposium through rich scientific discussions and purposeful interventions. This contributed to promoting a culture of prevention and disseminating health messages among students and the university community.
