The College of Dentistry at Basra University secured third place in the university's powerlifting championship, thanks to the outstanding performances of three of its students, who qualified to represent Basra University in the upcoming Baghdad championship.
Student Jaafar Hussein won third place in the 90 kg weight category after lifting 220 kg, while student Mohammed Wael achieved third place in the 80 kg weight category after lifting 180 kg. Their fellow students also delivered commendable performances, contributing to this achievement for the college.
The President of the Iraqi Central Powerlifting Federation praised the high level of performance displayed by the College of Dentistry students, commending their significant efforts and emphasizing that this distinguished performance reflects the discipline, diligence, and hard work that characterize the college's students in various academic and athletic fields.
