The Department of Ecology at the College of Science, University of Basra, concluded the 10th National Conference on Environment and Natural Resources, held over two days, October 29-30, 2025, under the slogan "Protecting Our Environment, Conserving Our Water, Securing Our Food for a Sustainable Future."
The conference, which lasted two days, featured several research presentations focusing on agriculture, sustainable environment, biology, health, and society. Participants included representatives from Sweden, Malaysia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and several Iraqi universities.
On the sidelines of the conference, contributors to its organization were honored. The ceremony was attended by the President of the University of Basra, Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Haider Khazal Mahbas, the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Ayman Saleh Naama, the Secretary of the University Council, the Director of Tourism, the Director of the Environment Department at Basra Gas Company, a representative of the Director General of the Health Department, the President of Al-Maqal University, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the Dean of the College of Agriculture, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs of the College of Engineering, the Deputy Governor for Municipal Affairs, and representatives from governmental institutions and environmental organizations.
