A detailed field study was conducted for the Canadian company RSK, contracted by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (WFP) and the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, to prepare a comprehensive study of the electronic card system for farmers and agricultural investors as part of the first phase of the project.
The study included collecting and analyzing basic farm data, including land ownership type and system, cultivated areas, agricultural activity, and the legal status of beneficiaries. It also involved developing agricultural and marketing plans and identifying the necessary technical and administrative support services to improve agricultural performance.
Furthermore, the study included an analysis of agricultural loan management systems and the development of an inductive system to monitor market price movements, climatic factors, and water resources. This will enhance the ability of relevant authorities to develop accurate strategic plans to support the agricultural sector and improve production efficiency.
The Dean of the College of Agriculture emphasized that the implementation of this study reflects the college's competence in conducting applied field research and utilizing its academic expertise to serve development projects. He noted that cooperation with international organizations contributes to transferring global expertise and developing agricultural practices in Iraq.
