The University of Basra organizes a training course on methods of volumetric analysis of sediments.
The course, lectured by Dr. Zainab Abdul-Razzaq Hamid at the Marine Science Center at the University of Basra, included an explanation of the importance of soil and its characteristics, as well as modern techniques used in its analysis, such as the Folk method for estimating sediment volumes, in addition to determining the ratio of major components such as clay and silt.
The course aimed to enhance scientific understanding of soil and its properties, which is useful in various fields such as agriculture and environmental conservation.
