University of Basrah Organizes an Introductory Seminar on the Environmental Friends Committee at the College of Veterinary Medicine
As part of efforts to enhance environmental awareness at the University of Basrah, the College of Veterinary Medicine organized a seminar introducing the Environmental Friends Committee, during which key concepts of sustainability within the university environment were reviewed.The seminar, presented by the Environmental Friends Committee at the college, included an explanation of the committee’s working mechanism and its role in supporting sustainable development projects, as well as proposing ideas that contribute to improving the campus environment—particularly those related to expanding green spaces, increasing tree-planting campaigns, and maintaining the college’s facilities, halls, and laboratories.
The seminar recommended increasing green areas within the college, using environmentally friendly materials in daily operations and infrastructure, adopting modern mechanisms for waste recycling, reducing reliance on fossil fuels through the use of clean energy, and encouraging students to present their ideas and visions aimed at building a sustainable university environment.
