The College of Dentistry Council at the University of Basra, headed by Dean Professor Dr. Asaad Mohammed Kadhim, welcomed the new students admitted for the new academic year during an orientation meeting organized by the college to receive them and prepare them for integration into their university environment.
The Dean began the meeting with a welcoming address, congratulating the students on their acceptance to the college. He emphasized that the College of Dentistry is a leading scientific institution that relies on discipline, commitment, and diligence in implementing ministerial directives. He urged the students to strive steadily towards academic and practical excellence.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to the uniform policy, as it represents the professional and academic identity of a dental student. During the meeting, Mr. Jawad Naama Al-Maliki, Director of the Student Affairs and Registration Division, gave a presentation outlining the most important ministerial regulations and university instructions. These included adherence to daily attendance, official working hours, respect for professors, and proper university conduct, in addition to the regulations regarding absences and the associated administrative procedures.
The college emphasized that this meeting is part of its efforts to strengthen communication between students and their academic administration and to provide a robust learning environment that contributes to preparing a generation of distinguished dentists, both scientifically and ethically.
