Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Mohammed Al-Nawab, the College's Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Basic Medical Sciences Branch, organized a workshop on digital transformation and green consumption, "Towards a Sustainable Future." The workshop was presented by Professor Luay Abdul Wahid Shihab, Head of the Basic Medical Sciences Branch, and Lecturer Zeina Abdul Sattar, a faculty member at the College.
The workshop included a comprehensive review of green consumption concepts and their relationship to digital transformation from an environmental and economic perspective. It defined green consumption and the role of technology in supporting conscious consumption, presented global models for sustainability applications, and highlighted the most prominent challenges facing this field. The workshop also focused on the future of sustainability in light of digital development, the use of artificial intelligence, and renewable energy.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the role of technology in promoting environmentally friendly consumption and to encourage participants to think about practical ways to reduce environmental impact by adopting green options supported by digital transformation.
