The Continuing Education and Development at Basra University organized an online workshop on assessment and evaluation in education.
The workshop which was, presented by Dr. Amer Abd Al-Nabi Al-Abadi, aimed at developing the teaching staff's skills in preparing tests for students,and understanding measurement and evaluation in light of modern educational developments.
The workshop included : definition measurement and evaluation, good test standards, functions and types of achievement tests, and the difference between assessment and evaluation , as well as the steps for establishing and correcting the test.
At the end, the workshop called for a change in the prevailing concepts about exams and the establishment of question banks that include questions for electronic achievement tests for all specializations, which can be used in training those who are qualified to occupy the teaching profession due to their availability of question forms that match the required standards
