As part of its awareness plans aimed at promoting a culture of digital security among students, the College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized a specialized awareness seminar entitled "Reducing the Phenomenon of Cyber Extortion and Protecting Mobile Phones." The seminar was attended by a group of specialists in the field of cybersecurity and combating cybercrime.
The seminar addressed the most prominent methods of cyber extortion and how to prevent them. It also explained safe ways to use mobile phones, raised students' awareness of digital risks and how to protect their privacy, and clarified the legal role and the competent authorities responsible for investigating such cases.
This seminar is part of a series of educational activities adopted by the college to maintain students' digital safety and provide a safe and informed university environment.
