A research team from the Date Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah conducted a field visit to one of the tissue-cultured date palm farms in Shatt Al-Arab District, Al-Hawta area.
The team examined the planted trees, which included various tissue-cultured date palm cultivars, and provided scientific guidance regarding tree health, irrigation systems, and fertilization methods to ensure proper growth and improved production.
This visit comes as part of the Center’s efforts to closely assess the status of date palm cultivation in the private sector, guide farmers toward adopting modern methods that align with global scientific and technological advancements, and enhance opportunities for collaboration and applied research in date palm farms across Basrah Governorate—contributing to the development of the agricultural production sector.
