The Geography Department at the College of Education for Humanities, University of Basra, organized a field trip to selected areas along the banks of the Tigris, Euphrates, and Shatt al-Arab rivers in the Qurna district. Several faculty members and students from the department participated.
The trip aimed to enhance students' practical skills and enable them to observe geomorphological features in their natural environment.
The visit, supervised by faculty members, included field observation of geomorphological features along the Tigris, Euphrates, and Shatt al-Arab rivers. Participants learned about the mechanisms by which landforms are formed by river processes, the impact of these features on human activity and economic life in the region, and received training in field observation, data recording, geographical analysis, and interpreting landforms.
