
Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Asaad Muhammad Kadhim, the College of Dentistry at the University of Basrah held its evaluation conference for the 2024-2025 academic year under the slogan: “Nations Rise Through Scientific Research.”
The conference reviewed the college’s progress during the academic year, discussed scientific and administrative aspects, and presented future development visions and plans in line with the university’s commitment to enhancing quality and scientific research.
Scientific Axis: Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Taha Yassin presented an overview of the college’s most prominent scientific activities, including:
- Scientific research completed during the year.
- Postgraduate student activities and achievements in publication and participation in local and international conferences.
- Statistics on admitted, attending, and successful students.
- Scientific achievements of the teaching staff and progress in developing teaching and research skills.
Administrative Axis: Dr. Raed Taha Yassin reviewed the administrative aspects of the college, including:
- Statistics related to the teaching staff, employees, and lecturers.
- Development of the college's infrastructure.
- The volume of expenditures and revenues and the administrative procedures undertaken during the year.
- Service achievements within the college.
- Staff movement and tasks completed by the Human Resources Department.
Future Visions and Goals: Dr. Hassanein Ali Al-Naml, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, presented the college's vision and future goals, emphasizing the importance of developing the educational and research environment, supporting training programs, and strengthening cooperation with scientific institutions locally and internationally, which contributes to raising the level of academic performance and achieving quality standards.
At the conclusion of the conference, the most prominent weaknesses that the educational and administrative process faced during the year were discussed, with recommendations made to address them and support the development of academic and administrative performance in line with the university’s vision to advance scientific research and serve the community.
