The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra organized an educational visit for second-year students to the Department of Life Sciences and Pathological Analysis at the College of Science. This visit, part of the college's Basic Sciences branch activities, aimed to enhance practical skills and connect students with the university's advanced research environment.
The visit included an extensive tour of the Department of Life Sciences laboratories, where students were introduced to the latest equipment and technologies used in biological experiments. They also observed practical applications in microbiology, histology, and molecular biology.
Department professors provided detailed explanations of modern experimental procedures and biosafety protocols within the laboratories. This contributed to broadening the students' understanding of the essential research skills needed by dental students throughout their academic journey.
The visit aimed to enhance students' scientific understanding, complement theoretical knowledge with practical experience, and reinforce the principle of integration among scientific disciplines within the university. This, in turn, contributes to developing graduates with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills.
This event is part of the Deanship of the College of Dentistry's plan to support educational activities that develop students' skills and keep pace with modern scientific developments.
