As part of the College of Engineering at the University of Basrah's efforts to develop the practical skills of its students and strengthen scientific partnerships with leading industrial institutions, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in cooperation with Basrah Gas Company, held a workshop entitled "Cathodontological Protection and Corrosion Control in Oil Pipelines and Tank Tanks." The workshop took place on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the conference hall at the College of Engineering, University of Basrah, with the participation of a number of students, faculty members, and those interested in this field.
The workshop aimed to enhance the applied knowledge of the department's students and faculty in the field of protecting metal structures from corrosion, and to highlight the latest technologies used in cathodic protection and corrosion control methods for oil pipelines and tanks. This contributes to strengthening the link between the academic and practical aspects and meeting the needs of the labor market. This event is part of a series of scientific activities through which the college seeks to support its students and provide them with practical experiences that keep pace with modern developments in the oil and industrial sector.
