
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held a workshop titled “Time Management,” which addressed the concept of time as one of the most important personal and professional resources. The workshop focused on how to effectively utilize time to achieve goals and reduce work-related stress.
The workshop, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Amer Abdul Nabi Kaban and Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Zayer Rasen, included an introduction to the most prominent causes of time loss, such as procrastination, poor planning, and frequent interruptions. A range of practical strategies for overcoming these challenges were also presented.
The workshop covered time management tools and techniques, including prioritizing tasks using a priority and urgency matrix, creating daily and weekly plans, breaking down large tasks into smaller ones, and utilizing modern technologies for monitoring and organization.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of adhering to time management principles, continuously evaluating performance, and achieving a work-life balance, which positively impacts both individual and institutional performance.
