The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held a scientific workshop entitled "Fundamentals of Nursing," which covered the different types of injections (intramuscular, intravenous, and subcutaneous) and their proper administration to patients according to established scientific principles.
The workshop, presented by Mr. Haider Hamad Issa and Mr. Imad Mahdi Saleh, included both theoretical and practical components. A detailed explanation of the anatomical information related to muscles and skin was provided, along with a demonstration of the correct injection sites for each type.
The workshop also covered the parts and types of injection devices available, the preparatory steps and procedures before injection, and addressed the most common errors and how to avoid them.
The workshop aimed to enhance the scientific and practical knowledge of the participants in the field of nursing and improve their professional competence.
The workshop included practical application using a dummy, in addition to direct practical application by the participants under the supervision of the lecturers, which contributed to consolidating practical skills and boosting confidence in performance.
