As part of the ongoing scientific and field monitoring of graduate student projects, the Scientific Monitoring Committee conducted a field visit to the research site of graduate student Haider Madloul, entitled "The Effect of Using Slow-Release Compound Fertilizers and Zeolite on the Sustainable Growth of Bermuda Grass in Sports Fields under the Climatic Conditions of Southern Iraq."
The research aims to find scientific and practical solutions for the sustainability of green spaces in sports fields, especially given the harsh climatic challenges faced by southern Iraq, through the application of smart fertilization techniques and soil amendments.
During the visit, the committee reviewed the progress of the fieldwork and the stages of the experiment. They discussed the mechanisms for adding slow-release compound fertilizers and using zeolite within the experimental treatments, and the extent of adherence to the approved research plan.
The technical aspects related to the calibration of the POGO instrument were also addressed, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in field measurements to ensure the reliability of the scientific results. The committee offered its scientific observations and guidance aimed at enhancing the quality of research work, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the established scientific methodology to achieve research objectives and serve the practical aspects of sports field maintenance and management.
