
The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Holy Quran Center of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Basra branch, held a cultural festival to commemorate World Quran Day. The event was attended by faculty members, students, and those interested in cultural and religious affairs.
The festival included cultural and educational segments, as well as a valuable religious lecture delivered by Sheikh Adnan Al-Salehi. In his lecture, Sheikh Al-Salehi discussed the importance of the Holy Quran in shaping individuals and society, its role in establishing moral and human values, and its contribution to promoting the principles of tolerance and moderation.
During his lecture, Sheikh Al-Salehi emphasized the importance of adhering to the teachings of the Holy Quran and making them a way of life, given their profound impact on refining human behavior and addressing contemporary intellectual and social challenges, particularly among young people.
He explained that academic institutions bear a significant responsibility in disseminating Quranic culture by holding such events, which contribute to enhancing religious and intellectual awareness and connecting knowledge with spiritual and moral values.
At the conclusion of the festival, copies of the Holy Quran were distributed as gifts to the attendees, emphasizing the importance of spreading the Holy Book of God and promoting its presence in daily life, amidst widespread praise for the fruitful cooperation between the College of Dentistry and the Holy Quran House at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein.
