A faculty member at the College of Education for Humanities wins second place in a scientific competition.
Dr. Ahmed Muwaffaq Mahdi, a faculty member at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra, won second place in the eighth annual Fatimid Research Competition. The competition, organized by the Center for Fatimid Studies in cooperation with the College of Education for Humanities, saw wide participation from dozens of researchers in Iraq and abroad.
The competition aimed to highlight the intellectual, humanistic, and historical aspects of the personality of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), and her pivotal role in establishing Islamic and humanistic values.
Dr. Ahmed Muwaffaq Mahdi's winning entry was for his research paper, "The Holy Quran: Its Characteristics and Rulings in the Thought of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her): A Study and Analysis." In his research, he sought to interpret the Holy Quran through the intellectual perspective of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (peace be upon her), exploring her understanding, contemplation, and application of the Quranic text.
