A faculty member from the University of Basra participates in an international scientific conference.
Dr. Makram Jamal Abbas, a faculty member at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra, participated in the conference "Geography and Artificial Intelligence: A Partnership for Building a Sustainable Future," held at the University of Baghdad.
The conference included the presentation of a research paper entitled "A Geographical Analysis of the Efficiency of Drinking Water in Al-Madina City." The paper addressed the importance of drinking water, its uses, and the obstacles faced by the treatment plants.
The study indicated quantitative efficiency in water production in the study area, while the qualitative efficiency of the water was negative due to the low water levels of the Euphrates River, which supplies the treatment plants, and the spread of diseases and epidemics among the city's residents through this contaminated water.
