The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra held an educational seminar on the anniversary of the birth of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), addressing the dangers of soft warfare, systematic disinformation tactics, and their impact on societal awareness, particularly within academic and youth circles.
Lecturers Sheikh Abdul-Hussein Al-Khafaji and Sheikh Hamid Al-Maliki discussed the importance of moving from traditional confrontation to conscious preparation, emphasizing the need to fortify students and educational institutions against attempts at cultural and intellectual infiltration. They also stressed the importance of activating the awareness-raising role of universities in exposing methods of mind manipulation and building sound critical thinking.
The seminar also reviewed the recommendations of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani (may God protect him), including understanding the true principles of Islam, such as monotheism, prophethood, resurrection, justice, and security; cultivating good morals like honesty, trustworthiness, and positive zeal; mastering one's profession and being dedicated to work; learning from the experiences of others; and treating parents, children, and all people with kindness, gentleness, and good words.
The seminar aimed to enhance students' religious and intellectual awareness, instill moral and human values, and address contemporary intellectual challenges that target the cultural identity of society.
