With God's help, the Master's thesis of student Iman Majeed Hameed, in the Department of Marine Sciences, entitled "Physiological and Histological Changes as Biomarkers of the Sublethal Toxicity of Triclosan on Blue Tilapia (Oreocromis aureus)," was discussed under the supervision of Professor Dr. Nawras Abdulghani Abdulzahra and Assistant Professor Dr. Raja Nouri Makki. The discussion took place at 9:00 AM on Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Conference and Graduate Studies Hall at the College of Marine Sciences.

This study aimed to evaluate the toxic effects of triclosan on blue tilapia (Oreochromis aureus), focusing on determining the LC50 (lethal concentration) and the effects of exposure on behavior and biological changes.
The results showed that the LC50 value was 1.4454 mg/L, with mortality increasing with increasing concentration. Behavioral changes such as rapid swimming and loss of balance were observed. Chemically, protein and fat percentages in the muscles decreased, while water content decreased significantly at the highest concentration.
