The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra participated in Entrepreneurship Week, held at the College of Medicine under the theme "Towards Innovative Medical Leadership to Serve Our Community." The College presented a unique project in the field of artificial intelligence for clinical diagnosis at the Entrepreneurship Conference, which was attended by a number of investors and representatives from the Central Bank.
The presentation included a practical model for employing artificial intelligence technologies to support clinical decision-making. This contributes to enhancing diagnostic accuracy, improving the quality of healthcare services, and reducing operational challenges within medical institutions. This step reflects the project's readiness to move from a research concept to a practical application with a tangible impact on the healthcare sector.
The participating students explained that the project represents a significant milestone in the path of medical innovation at the local level. It also underscores the ability of students to provide advanced technological solutions that meet the needs of the healthcare system and keep pace with global trends in digital transformation and smart medicine.
The project was developed by students Saif Abdulnabi Abdulwahid, Zaid Aqeel Khalaf, and Abdullah Iyad Farouk, under the supervision of Dr. Noor Adnan, who emphasized the importance of integrating modern technologies into curricula and clinical applications to foster a culture of leadership and innovation among students.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Professor Dr. Asaad Mohammed Kadhim, commended this active participation, praising the students' efforts and the faculty's supervision. He affirmed the college's commitment to supporting pioneering projects with practical applications, contributing to the University of Basra's goals of promoting an environment of innovation and aligning higher education outcomes with the needs of society and the labor market.
