The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled “Evaluation natural reserves using GIS technologies by MSc. student Omar Abdul Ameer Al-Badran.
The study aimed to assess the Al Saffia Nature reserve status and its sustainability based on determining the temporal and spatial variables of some environmental conditions. GIS techniques were used to monitor ecological characteristics and design an electronic program to assess the natural reserve state.
The study recommended continuous monitoring of water bodies and preserve biological diversity from human activities.
