A doctoral dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, investigated "The Effect of Sprinkler Stand Height in a Fixed Sprinkler Irrigation System, Irrigation Interval, and the Addition of an Emulsified Oil Modifier on Some Properties of Clay Soil and the Growth and Yield of Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.)."
The study, presented by researcher Ali Mohammed Mahdi Al-Madi, aimed to investigate the effect of sprinkler stand height in a fixed sprinkler irrigation system and the horizontal distance from the spray center on the physical and moisture properties of clay soil and their impact on growth indicators and barley yield. It also investigated the effect of irrigation interval on soil moisture content and its impact on soil properties and barley yield. Furthermore, the study aimed to determine the importance of the role of the used engine oil emulsion in preserving the soil's physical properties from degradation caused by the energy of irrigation water droplets, while providing essential support to the soil in improving its properties and increasing its productivity.
