The Date Palm Research Center at the University of Basrah launched a tree-planting campaign at the Karma Ali site, in line with the University Presidency’s directives aimed at enhancing the campus environment and strengthening its presence in international rankings.
The campaign witnessed the participation of the Center’s researchers and staff in planting a number of date palm offshoots suitable for the local environment—particularly varieties related to the Center’s specialization—with the aim of expanding green spaces and improving the urban landscape داخل the campus.
The Center’s administration confirmed that this initiative stems from its scientific and environmental responsibility, contributing to promoting a culture of afforestation and environmental preservation among students and researchers due to its positive impact on improving the campus climate and enhancing sustainability.
This campaign comes ضمن a series of activities carried out by the Center in support of the University’s efforts to care for green spaces and serve the community.
