The College of Dentistry at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Student Activities Department, held a Quranic competition for memorization and recitation. A select group of students and staff from various academic levels participated in the competition, which is part of the college's annual program aimed at developing the spiritual and cultural aspects of its students.
The competition was held in a distinguished atmosphere of faith, reflecting the college's commitment to promoting religious values and fostering a culture of respect for the Holy Quran. Participants competed in both memorization and recitation according to precise rules and standards of Tajweed (Quranic recitation), under the supervision of a specialized judging panel in Quranic sciences and the rules of recitation.
The competition aims to encourage students to memorize the Holy Quran and master its recitation, as well as to discover promising Quranic talents within the college and support their participation in university and national events.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners of the top positions were honored and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants, in recognition of their efforts and to motivate them to continue their Quranic journey, stressing that these activities contribute to building the student’s integrated personality scientifically and morally.
