Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim, and with the close and continuous follow-up of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, the Continuing Education Unit at the College, in collaboration with the Deanship of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, organized a specialized workshop on first aid in the lecture halls of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, as part of efforts to promote health and professional awareness within the university community.
The workshop lectures were delivered by Dr. Ahmed Thamer Saud, who addressed the latest scientific methods and practical applications in dealing with emergency situations, while Assistant Professor Dr. Faisal Ghazi, Assistant Professor Dr. Zuhair Salem, and instructor Fannous Mohammed Qasim contributed to the preparation and organization. The event saw a notable turnout of faculty, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students, reflecting the significant interest in this vital topic.
The workshop saw significant engagement from the attendees, given that first aid represents the first line of defense in saving lives and mitigating risks, particularly in sports environments that require a high level of readiness to handle injuries and emergencies.
