The Cultural Center at the University of Basra carries out a humanitarian campaign to support children with thalassemia
Within the framework of the University of Basra's commitment to enhancing its humanitarian and social role, members of the Cultural Center at the university participated in a humanitarian campaign to distribute gifts to children at the Children's Hospital, Thalassemia Center, with the aim of bringing joy to their hearts and alleviating their health and psychological suffering.
This initiative embodied the high humanitarian values that the university seeks to instill, particularly the principles of social solidarity and ethical responsibility, emphasizing that cultural work is inseparable from its humanitarian mission in serving society and supporting the most needy groups, especially children.
In this context, the Director of the Cultural Center, Professor Dr. Nizar Abdul Mohsen Jafar, confirmed that this campaign comes as part of a series of community activities carried out by the center, noting that “the university does not only play a scientific and academic role but also bears a humanitarian and ethical responsibility towards society. Through these initiatives, it seeks to support sick children, alleviate their suffering, and bring smiles to their faces.”
He added that the Cultural Center continues to organize events and initiatives that enhance the spirit of solidarity and cooperation.
