The Department of Architectural Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Basra, held a scientific lecture entitled “Analyzing the Impact of the Sun on Architectural Projects,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Samar Ghalib Al-Asadi.
The lecture addressed the importance of studying the sun's movement and its environmental and climatic effects in architectural design, its role in achieving energy efficiency, improving thermal comfort and natural lighting inside buildings, and employing appropriate design solutions that are compatible with local climatic conditions.
The lecture was attended by a number of students from the department and those interested in architecture. Emphasis was placed on the importance of integrating environmental analysis into the initial stages of architectural design to achieve more sustainable and efficient projects
