The Cultural Center Organizes a Seminar on Violent Extremism and Its Societal Impacts
The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah held a scientific seminar entitled "Violent Extremism and Its Societal Impacts," in cooperation with the College of Education for Women, the Department of Women's Affairs, and the Continuing Education Center, as part of efforts to raise societal awareness and address negative phenomena.
The seminar included two scientific research papers. Dr. Hanaa Abdulnabi Al-Abadi presented a strategy for combating violent extremism, in which she addressed methods of prevention and treatment, while international trainer Basim Abdul Hussein Al-Idrisi presented the decision-making system and how to make it, focusing on developing thinking skills and making sound decisions.
The Director of the Cultural Center, Professor Dr. Nizar Abdul Mohsen Jafar, emphasized that holding such seminars is part of the center's strategy to enhance intellectual and social awareness, pointing to the importance of joint work between academic institutions in instilling values of moderation and building a society that is more aware and capable of facing challenges.
