On the base of invitation from Anton Oil Company, a scientific team from the College of Agriculture implemented a survey and agricultural study for establishing green belt along the main road of Majnoon oil field as well as landscaping services. The study aimed to :
1- Reducing pollution by oil emissions
2- Reducing the effect of desertification in the region
3- Coordination between the university and the oil departments to improve the green cover within the oil projects in Basra Governorate
Providing job opportunities for population in the region
