This study was conducted to rehabilitate the agricultural research station in Al-Hartha that abandoned since 2003, in order to evaluate the soil for the purposes of suitability for economic and horticultural crops and other non-agricultural uses aim to exploiting it agricultural and increasing the agricultural area as well as employing the local manpower, including graduates of agricultural colleges in addition to increasing the province's agricultural imports. The results of the study showed that there are two types of land suitability for cultivating economic crops, medium suitability (S2) for cultivating orchards and economic crops, and limited suitability for growing economic crops (S3) due to the presence of some very severe determinants represented by soil salinity factor and severe and medium severity determinants of soil depth and natural drainage factors, while The rest of the lands in the study area were lands suitable for constructing fish ponds, animal and poultry fields, and some of them were suitable as pastures.The study recommends utilizing the plant’s areas by planting field and horticultural crops, establishing fish ponds, and making use of the human element in the region to improve the economic situation and reduce unemployment.
