Master's thesis at Basra University discussing (child labor in the Chibayish district) (a study in population geography)
I searched my master's degree in the Department of Geography / College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Basra (Child Labor in the Chibayish District) (Study in Population Geography) for the student (Alaa Shraji Hanaido) economic, social and political causes, as the causes affecting the emergence and spread of child labor in the judiciary.
The message concluded a number of results, the most prominent of which was the spread of the phenomenon of child labor in the judiciary, and the difference in administrative units in the number of working children, due to the difference in the size of the population and economic activity between one administrative unit and another. The study also showed the existence of economic, social and political reasons affecting the high volume of child labor. Poverty which stands at the forefront It was produced by the wrong policies of the governments that ruled over Iraq in managing the country, in addition to the traditions and customs that represent the desire for a large family size and the preference for work over education.
The study showed that the effects of child labor are numerous and cannot be limited to one aspect. They are economic in the form of losing human capital, and social by learning bad habits, dropping out of education.
The study also expected that child labor in the Chibayish district will continue if the influencing reasons are established, foremost of which is the increase in the percentage of poor and deprived families. Considering that their children are one of the basic pillars of human development.
