A master's thesis in the Basrah University - College of Medicine discussed the epidemiology of cancer in Dhi Qar for the years 2012-2018. The thesis presented by the student Sadiq Mehsin Musa aims to perform a retrospective study for patients with cancer in Dhi Qar which were registered in the records of the Center Cancer Registry of the Iraqi Ministry of Health. The most common types of cancer in Dhi Qar were breast, lung, and urinary bladder cancer followed by leukemia. The thesis concluded the necessity of improving the registration of cancer and conducting more researches on the potential risk factors. The thesis recommended the necessity of implementing a prevention programs that include dietary control, Anti-Smoking and physical fitness activities for both genders.
