Prof. Dr. Abdulameer Abdullah Almusawi, Dean of the College of Nursing at Basrah University, congratulated the University for having ranked first locally and eighteenth in the Arab world, and among the best (301-400) globally in the British Times Impact for 2021. The university’s ranking has jumped nearly 300 places compared to last year.
Almusawi said that Basrah University made great strides in sustainable development during this year, which made it jump to this arrangement, and these steps would not have been without the continuous follow-up by the President of the University and the Deans of the Colleges and the diligent and distinguished work of Teaching Staffs members and all technical and administrative clerks in colleges.
The official website of the classification indicated, “Basrah University came in the category (301-400) globally and first place locally, followed by Al-Anbar University in second place locally and in the category (401-600) globally, while the Al-Mustaqbal University College came in third place locally and in the category (601-) 800) worldwide. "
It should be noted that the British Times Sustainable Development Ranking evaluates universities by achieving a number of United Nations goals out of 17 goals, including quality education, health, partnerships, industry, innovation, climate action and gender equality.
