A doctoral thesis entitled "The Royal Literature Books as a Source for the Study of Political Thought During the First Abbasid Era 132-247 AH / 749-861AD" was discussed in the History Department of the College of Arts.
The thesis, submitted by student Sarah Abdul-Razzaq Zaji, included three chapters. The first chapter dealt with the royal literature, its roots, culture and approach. The second chapter involved the absolute image of the Sultan, and the third chapter included the system of the sultanate.
The thesis aims to clarify some ambiguous issues in political literature and to understand aspects of thinking in political writing in Arab-Islamic history and the role of political literature in influencing the cultural thought space of society.
The study discussed the social and political structure of the Abbasid state, which was a sophisticated structure, especially in presenting the ethics of the ideal ruler. Thus, the study was part of the structure of political consideration in the history of Islamic thought.
