A lechurer at the College of Education for Women at Basra University participates in the hypothetical international scientific conference on the role of scientific institutions in preserving the national identity held by the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra.
The research presented by Dr. Atheer Abdel-Karim Al-Alwan included a study entitled (Health institutions in Morocco and Andalusia from the second to the fourth century AH), which sheds light on those health institutions that appeared in the countries of the Maghreb and Andalusia and highlights their health role in society at that time.
The study showed that caliphs, doctors, dignitaries and the general public of men and women, and volunteers in Morocco and Andalusia, took great interest in constructing special places for treating patients. These places varied between private hospitals and their work is more like (quarantine) in our present time, and (homes) that are considered One of the oldest places of treatment, and (medicine cabinets) (pharmacy), and an official government medical institution found its work similar to the work of the (Doctors Syndicate) today.
